Greetings, I’m Kim Sung-joo, Chairman and CEO of the National Pension Service. Welcome to our official website.
Since the launch of the National Pension plan on January 1, 1988, to ensure a happy retirement for all citizens, the NPS has advanced over the past 38 years, overcoming countless hardships and crises.
The National Pension Service has now surpassed 20 million insured persons and provides benefits to over 7 million beneficiaries. The fund has grown into the world’s third largest with assets reaching KRW 1,300 trillion.
These achievements were only possible because the public placed their trust in the NPS and walked this journey with us.
Moving forward, all NPS employees, including myself, will do our utmost to enhance the sustainability of the system and ensure the stable management of the pension fund — the public’s retirement assets — so that every citizen may enjoy a pension of shared prosperity and happiness.
