Officials from the VSS* visited the NPS for two days, from December 1-2, to learn from the Korean pension agency how to further develop their pension scheme and implement more advanced forms of ICT**.

On December 2, Dr. Hyung Pyo Moon, Chairman and CEO of the NPS held a meeting with Ms. Nguyen Thi Minh, Director General of the VSS, along with officials from the NPS and the VSS. Officials from the two institutions discussed how they can exchange information, expand people-to-people exchanges, and explore ways to enable ICT transfer.

During the meeting, both sides agreed to conclude an MOU in 2017 to expand people-to-people exchanges and to develop ICT. In particular, Ms. Nguyen Thi Minh expressed a keen interest in acquiring from the NPS the know-how for launching a call center, as the VSS is planning to build a call center.

On the first day of their visit, the VSS delegation visited the NPS Seoul Call Center (Gangnam-gu, Seoul) to see how the call center is being operated. On the second day, the delegation visited the NPS headquarters in Jeonju, where they were presented an overview of the National Pension and saw first-hand the advanced ICT used by the NPS.

Regarding this visit, CEO of the NPS said, “We hope to export our advanced ICT to Vietnam as we develop further the discussion on cooperation with the VSS.”
